Materials
For this project you will need:
Paper
To make a paper tech deck, you will need some basic materials. You will need a regular skateboard deck, some Grip tape, and some sandpaper. You will also need a piece of parchment paper or wax paper, some scissors, and a hobby knife.
If you do not have a regular skateboard deck, you can use a blank one. You can find these at your local skate shop or online. grip tape is used to keep your feet from slipping off the board when you are skating. Sandpaper is used to rough up the surface of the deck so that the grip tape will adhere better.
Parchment paper or wax paper is used to trace your patterns onto the deck. Scissors are used to cut out the patterns, and a hobby knife is used to score the lines of the patterns into the deck. These lines will help you align the pieces of grip tape when you are applying it to the deck.

Optional: Tech Decks without graphics or you can use old skateboard wheels. You will need four wheels for each Tech Deck.
Scissors
To make a paper tech deck, you will need:
-A4 cardstock
-Scissors
-Double-sided tape
-Pencil
-A coin
-A template (you can find these online or make your own)
1. Start by cutting a strip of cardstock that is 3 cm wide and 21 cm long. This will be the deck.
2. Using the template, trace and cut out the shapes of the trucks. Make sure to cut out two identical trucks.
3. Stick the trucks to the deck with double-sided tape. Make sure they are spaced evenly apart.
4. To make the wheels, start by tracing a circle onto the cardstock with a pencil. Use a coin to trace a smaller circle inside the first one. Cut out both circles. Repeat this step until you have 8 wheels.
5. Stick the wheels to the trucks with double sided tape
Tape
Tape is an essential part of making a paper tech deck. You will need to use tape to secure the paper to the skateboard deck. You can use any type of tape, but duct tape or gaffers tape works best.
Drawing the Deck
Start by sketching out a rectangular box on a piece of paper. This will be the basic frame of your paper tech deck. Once you have the rectangle, start sketching out the concave of the deck. This is the part of the deck that curves inward and gives the deck its shape. Make sure to leave enough space on the paper for the trucks, wheels, and other components of the deck.
Draw a rectangle that is 3 1/2 inches long and 2 1/2 inches wide
For the Tech Deck, you will need two pieces of paper that are 3 1/2 inches long and 2 1/2 inches wide.
First, take one sheet of paper and fold it in half length-wise. Then, take the other sheet of paper and do the same thing. Now you should have two long, skinny rectangles that are each 3 1/2 inches long and 1 1/4 inches wide.
Next, take both of the rectangles and put them side-by-side so that they are both facing upwards and the folded sides are touching. Once again, fold both rectangles in half length-wise so that you now have two smaller rectangles that are each 3 1/2 inches long and about 3/4 of an inch wide.
Now it’s time to start drawing the deck. For the top of the deck, draw a rectangle that is 3 1/2 inches long and 2 1/2 inches wide. This will be the template for all of the other cards in your deck.
To make the other cards, simply trace around the template on each piece of paper until you have enough cards for your deck. Make sure to leave enough space between each card so that you can easily cut them out later.
Make two vertical lines that are 1/4 inch apart in the middle of the rectangle
This will be the width of your deck. Make a horizontal line at the top and bottom of the rectangle that is also 1/4 inch apart. This will be the length of your deck. Draw a line from the top left corner to the bottom right corner and then from the top right corner to the bottom left corner. You should now have a plus sign in the middle of your rectangle.
Draw a horizontal line that is 1/2 inch from the bottom of the rectangle
A paper tech deck is a miniaturized skateboard that you can make at home with just a few supplies. Once you have the basic shape cut out, you can personalize your deck with graphics and add-ons. This project is easy to do, and it’s a great way to show off your artistic side.
You will need:
-A sheet of 8.5″ x 11″ copy paper
-A pencil
-A ruler or a straight edge
-A sharpie or other permanent marker
-Scissors
-Tape
-Decorative paper (optional)
-Stickers (optional)
1. Start by folding your paper in half lengthwise. Then, fold it in half again so that you have a rectangle that is 4.25″ x 5.5″. Unfold the paper and crease all of the folds so that they are easy to see.
2. Use your rulers to draw a horizontal line that is 1/2 inch from the bottom of the rectangle. Draw another horizontal line 1/2 inch from the top of the rectangle. These lines will be the top and bottom of your deck.
3.4 Now, use your rulers to draw two vertical lines that are 1/2 inch from each side of the rectangle. These lines will be the sides of your deck.5. Cut out your deck shape along the lines that you just drew.6.7 Now, it’s time to round off the corners of your deck.8.9.10.11.12.13.14151617

Draw another horizontal line that is 1 inch from the first horizontal line
To make a paper tech deck, you will need:
-A4 or Letter Size paper
-Pencil
-Eraser
-Ruler
-Scissors/Craft Knife
-Paper Glue
-Optional: Printing, Coloring
First, fold your paper in half lengthwise and then unfold it. Draw a horizontal line that is 1 inch (2.5 cm) from the top of the page and another horizontal line that is 1 inch (2.5 cm) from the bottom of the page. Next, draw vertical lines spaced 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart down the center of the paper. These will be your fold lines.
Next, draw another horizontal line that is 1 inch (2.5 cm) from the first horizontal line and another horizontal line that is 1 inch (2.5 cm) from the second horizontal line. Draw vertical lines spaced 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart down the center of the paper. Cut along these lines to create 4 equal rectangles
Cutting Out the Deck
To make a paper tech deck, you’ll need a few supplies. For the deck itself, you’ll need some stiff paper or cardstock. You’ll also need a sharp craft knife, a cutting mat, and a straightedge. Once you have your supplies, you’re ready to start cutting out your deck.
Cut out the rectangle
Now that you have your materials, it’s time to start making your deck. The first step is to cut out a rectangle from your construction paper. You can make your rectangle any size you want, but we recommend making it about 3 inches by 5 inches. Once you have your rectangle cut out, set it aside.
Cut along the two vertical lines
Using a sharp knife or scissors, cut along the two vertical lines that are closest to the edge of the paper. Be sure to cut all the way through both layers of paper. Next, fold the piece of paper in half so that the two cut lines are touching. The cut lines should now be at the top of the stack of four pieces of paper.
Cut along the two horizontal lines
Using a sharp knife or scissors, cut along the two horizontal lines on the template. Be sure to cut straight lines so that your deck will be symmetrical.
Assembling the Deck
Before you start, you will need to gather the following materials:
Place the two pieces of paper together so that the cut lines are touching
Now that you have your deck of cards, it’s time to start assembling the tech deck. The first step is to take the two pieces of paper that you cut out and placed them together so that the cut lines are touching. Once you have done this, you will need to use a stapler to staple the two pieces of paper together along the top and bottom. Be sure to staple the two pieces of paper together securely so that they do not come apart.
After you have stapled the two pieces of paper together, you will need to turn the deck of cards over and trim any excess paper off of the sides. Once you have done this, you should have a nice, clean deck of cards that is ready to be used.
Tape the two pieces of paper together along the cut lines
Now that you have your paper cut out, it’s time to start assembling your deck. Take the two pieces of paper that make up the top and bottom of your deck and line them up along the cut lines. Then, take a piece of tape and tape them together along the middle. Make sure that the tape goes all the way across so that the entire seam is covered.
