Introduction
Nollies are a basic but essential move in street skateboarding, and they’re also a great way to show off your tech deck skills. A nollie is simply an ollie performed without using your back foot to push off the ground; instead, you snap the board down with your front foot while you jump. This can be a little tricky to get the hang of at first, but once you get the hang of it you’ll be able to do nollies all day long!
What is a Nollie?
A nollie is a skateboarding trick in which the skater pops the board off the ground with their front foot while their back foot remains in the same position. The name “nollie” comes from the fact that the skater’s front foot is positioned at the nose of the board. Nollies can be done on any terrain, but they are most commonly done on street skateboards and ramps.
Nollies can be done on any terrain, but they are most commonly done on street skateboards and ramps. To do a nollie, the skater starts in a regular stance with their weight evenly distributed between their two feet. They then shift their weight onto their front foot and quickly jump up into the air, popping the board off the ground with their front foot. As they jump, they bring their back foot up onto the tail of the board. This gives them more control over the board as they land back down on the ground.

How to Do a Nollie on a Tech Deck
A nollie is a skateboarding trick where the skater pops the board off the ground with their front foot while the back foot remains in the air. This trick can be done on a Tech Deck by following a few simple steps. First, place your front foot in the center of the deck. Second, pop the deck off the ground with your front foot while keeping your back foot in the air. Third, land on your back foot and ride away.
Step 1: Place your Tech Deck on a flat surface
Before you attempt a nollie on your Tech Deck, you’ll need to make sure that you have a good surface to work with. Find a flat piece of ground outside or a smooth floor inside that you can use to practice. You don’t want any obstacles in your way as you learn how to do this trick.
Step 2: Place your front foot on the nose of the deck
Now it’s time to get into position for the nollie. Place your Tech Deck on the ground so that the nose is pointing away from you. Then, put your front foot on the nose of the deck, making sure that your weight is evenly distributed. You can place your back foot anywhere on the tail end of the deck.
Step 2: Place your front foot on the nose of the Tech Deck
Now that you have your back foot in the right position, it’s time to put your front foot on the nose of the Tech Deck. You want to place your foot as close to the center of the board as possible. Once you have your foot in place, use your back foot to help push the Tech Deck forward so that you can hop on it.
Step 3: Ollie into the air
As you practice becoming more comfortable with the flipping motion, you can work on ollieing into the air off of your back foot. This is called a nollie.
To do a nollie on your tech deck, start in the position described in step 1 with your board on an incline. Put your back foot on the tail of the board and your front foot near the center.
Next, use your back foot to push the tail down while simultaneously jumping into the air off of your front foot. As you jump, curl your front fingers around the nose of the deck and scoop up with your back fingers. The scooping motion will help lift the nose of the board into the air.
Once you’ve caught some air, balance yourself on the deck and land safely back on the ground.
Step 4: As you are coming down from the ollie, flick your back foot off the tail of the Tech Deck
As you are coming down from the ollie, flick your back foot off the tail of the Tech Deck. This will spin the Tech Deck around so that the nose is pointing downwards. You can now catch the Tech Deck on the ground with your front foot, and ride away.
Conclusion
Now that you know how to do a nollie on a Tech Deck, you can impress your friends with your skills. Remember to practice so that you can perfect your technique. With a little bit of practice, you’ll be doing nollies like a pro in no time!
