Get an Associate’s Degree

In order to be licensed as a medical technologist in Florida, you must have:
-A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major in medical technology or clinical laboratory science OR
-A bachelor’s degree from any college or university plus successful completion of a one-year full-time clinical training program in medical technology OR
-An associate’s degree from an accredited clinical laboratory science program plus two years of full-time acceptable experience as a certified medical technologist.
After you have met the educational requirements, you must then pass an examination administered by the Board.
