Introduction
It takes about two years to complete the educational requirements to become an ultrasound technician. Associate’s Degree

Bachelor’s Degree
In order to become an ultrasound technician, you will need to have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. During your degree program, you will take classes in medical imaging, human anatomy, and physiology. You will also complete clinical rotations in order to gain hands-on experience. Once you have earned your degree, you will be eligible to sit for the national exam to become a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
Master’s Degree

In addition to the classroom work, you will also need to complete a clinical internship in order to gain experience working with patients.
